Color Police

This magazine cover uses poor color choice.  The use of soft colors like pink and white is overdone and information is lost or hard to understand because of it.  Because of all of the crazy detail and over abundance of different shades of red and pink, the white font of the words on the cover are lost and very hard to read.  Also, all of the soft colors make the cover seem a bit bland.

This cover too, also uses a bad choice of color.  Because both the back drop and the models clothing and the props are all the same red, it makes it very difficult to understand what exactly the purpose of this cover is.  Also the boldness of the red makes the white words fall behind and hard to read.

This advertisement uses color is a useful and constructive way.  Because of the boldness in some areas and the blandness in others, the viewer can easily understand what is being advertised.  The bright popping red of the car makes it stand out against the white walls and makes it clear that the car is indeed the subject and purpose of the advertisement.
